Trade Union Backs Citizen Awards
18th December 2007
With less than a month to go to get nominations in for Stockport’s first ever citizen awards, public service trade union Unison has thrown its weight behind the scheme.
The local branch of Unison is encouraging Council and other public sector employees to think about which individuals, groups or teams go out of their way to make Stockport a better place – and submit their names to the Awards office.
The awards are part of the Stockport Community Pride campaign, launched by the Council to encourage a stronger sense of pride and community spirit in the borough.
