Stockport Council, and Fido PR (working on behalf of Stockport Council for the Citizen Awards Scheme), will be collecting personal information from the general public in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Citizen Awards Scheme.

The personal information collected will be used determine the overall winners for each category in the Citizen Awards Scheme, and will only be made available to the judging panel and Stockport Council employees with direct responsibility for the Citizen Awards Scheme.

Personal information about the winners of each category may also be used for publicity purposes including local media, websites, radio etc.

All personal data will be processed in line with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998, and as a public authority, Stockport Council is subject to the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and will consider all requests for information under the relevant legislation. This may mean that information collected and produced as part of 'My Place in Stockport Citizen Awards Scheme' will be provided to requesters; however any requests involving personal information will be considered with the requirements of the DPA in mind.
